Growing up next to the mountains in Boulder, Colorado was a strong influence in my life. The beauty of the area inspired my love of art and the outdoors. Not a great academic student, I passed on college and went right to work as an apprentice picture framer in Knoxville, Tennessee. After a few years, I felt a strong pull to return to the mountains of Colorado. Looking for a lifestyle away from the cities, I moved to Salida in 1979, where I spent a couple of years working as a river guide and ski instructor. In 1981, at the age of 23, I opened my frame shop. Shortly after that, I met and married Jack. In 1985, we bought and moved into the building where our gallery is currently located. Since opening the frame shop, I’ve offered my clients one-of-a-kind custom frame designs that reflect their style and needs. Working with my customers and framing their art is one of life's joys. Some of life’s other joys include hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, river rafting, and playing music with Jack. I enjoy sewing, too. I make clothes and also explore creative avenues with the materials I love… beads, buttons and beautiful fabrics. You will find some of my fiber art pieces in the portfolio section.
